I had an interview and they told me they would let me know about the next steps. I had to follow up multiple times before they told me they hired someone else. It would have been better if they had informed me I was no longer being considered without me having to chase them.
- How do you see yourself being a good fit for this position?
Marketing
Applied online and got an email for a phone interview. It was pretty standard and they asked questions specific to the job. What I really didn't like and thought was incredibly unprofessional and rude was that I never heard back from them. I get it if I'm not who they're looking for. Just send an email saying you're moving on with others, don't just ghost me. If it was the other way around and I ghosted them when they wanted me, they wouldn't be happy. I took time out of my life to prep and interview, you can take 5 mins to email that I won't be moving forward.
- Can you tell me about specific past experiences that are relevant to this role?
Financial Analyst
I had a quick and casual phone interview with the recruiter, Julia. She asked some basic questions, didn't give me a chance to ask my several questions, and spent a lot of time asking about my views on working with a company that makes gun scopes. She also mentioned that applying from out of state put me at a disadvantage compared to local candidates, even though I'm moving to Beaverton soon. I haven't heard back since she said I would.
- How did you find out about this opportunity and why are you interested in our company?
- Can you describe a typical day in your current job?
- Why did you choose to apply to our company?
Planner
The interview process was very organized. I got an email from HR and we set up an interview for that same week. When I got to the interview, the HR person I spoke with greeted me and gave me a packet with company info and a brochure about the company's history and legacy. The hiring manager was really nice and easy to talk to, so it was a good interview overall.
