LeTourneau University Interview Questions
& Process

It was a long interview process. First, I spoke with a recruiter, then with the department recruiting team. After that, there was an 8-hour-long interview day that included a "teach out" session. A part of this session involved sharing how I became a Christian. I understand that LTU is a private Christian institution. However, not everyone has a personal crisis or loss of faith that leads them to Christ. Some people are raised in a Christ-centered home where they learn to love others as Christ did. They don't necessarily have a dramatic conversion experience. Some are raised to love every person as Christ would. Christ himself didn't only surround himself with religious followers but also with people from all walks of life and showed them His love. When I discussed my upbringing, that Christ was the head of our household, and the quiet way I accepted Christ, along with the expectation of exemplifying His love and teaching, I noticed some instructors rolling their eyes. A couple of weeks later, I got a rejection call. When I asked why I wasn't selected, I was curtly told it was based on the feedback from the instructors during my teach-out.

It was really casual. I was a student in the class and asked if I could help out. I showed what I learned that semester to show I could do it.

Since this was a new position, I was one of the initial hires. The interview was mostly a formality because the supervisor had already recommended me. The application process was straightforward then, though it's become much more competitive now, with about 100 applicants for each opening.

It was a pretty straightforward interview process. They asked some technical questions, as you might expect. The main focus was on problem-solving skills, which is a big part of the job, so the interview did a good job of giving me a feel for what the role would be like.
