First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Let's Get Ready.
Site Director
After submitting my application, cover letter, and resume, I received an email a week or two later indicating I had been chosen for a phone interview. This interview took place about a week after I received the email. It was a standard interview, and the questions were all pretty much what I expected. It felt more like a friendly chat, actually, as everyone I spoke with was very nice. I was then offered the position about two weeks after that conversation.
- Could you describe the qualities of an effective leader?
- What are your long-term goals, and how do you see this internship contributing to them?
Program Associate
I sent my resume and cover letter by email and heard back about a week later for an interview. The actual interview happened about three weeks after that. It was a pretty short phone interview. The local director I spoke with was nice and seemed interested at first, but I got the impression I wasn't answering correctly as the conversation went on and their interest seemed to wane. They were upfront about how many candidates they were considering and got back to me quickly. It's still a great organization to work for.
- Can you share an example of a time you took a leadership role within a team?
Program Manager
After applying online, I got a call for an interview pretty quickly. The conversation was relaxed, and I felt really comfortable. First, I spoke with the Director who talked a lot about the organization, the work culture, and how they supervise. Then, I met with two other staff members for more questions, followed by another meeting with the Director. I thought it went well, but I got an email saying they were going with someone else.
- What type of work environment do you prefer?
- How do you keep students involved?
- What methods would you employ for marketing and outreach?
Site Director
The interview process was easy and smooth. The questions weren't too difficult, and the interviewers were personable. No prior experience was needed for the role; success hinges on being a good educator and mentor. The company's system is a bit old and could use an update.
- Can you describe your strengths and explain how they are relevant to this role?
- How do your strengths translate into success in this position?
