It was very casual. I met with the billing team, the finance manager, and HR/the owner. If they liked me, I would start right away. It was a much simpler process than other firms around here.

I met with the owner, but they didn't really explain what the job actually is. It felt like a waste of time because it didn't connect to the day-to-day tasks at all. The other employees weren't on the same page either.

So I did a phone screening first, and then I had an in person interview with two attorneys. It was about an hour long. We chatted about the job and my experience, but mostly it was about getting to know each other and them telling me about how the firm operates. The phone screening had some pretty odd questions, but this actual interview was surprisingly good and I felt like I really understood the office and its workings afterwards.

I met with two women. The first one was really nice and helped ease me into the second interview with the boss. They were both approachable and made me feel comfortable, which is great because I'm usually shy in interviews. The first person gave me a tour and had me fill out the paperwork for the background check.
