Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Leon's Furniture.
Retail Sales Associate
It's a friendly and professional interview process. They'll ask about your previous jobs and your career goals. Also, they'll ask about your availability to start.
- Tell me about your previous work experience.
- What are your career aspirations?
- What's your start date availability?
Sales Associate
I applied online. If they decide to invite you for an interview, they call you to fix a date and time, no Email correspondence. Before an interview they asked you to fill out a 3-page Employment Application with names of your bosses at previous jobs and they phone numbers as well as three references. I advise not to provide your bosses and references personal data until they make you an offer or you decide that you like this place. An interview takes half an hour. The interviewer didn't provide his full name and a position and didn't give his business card.
- What was your previous commission percentage at your sales jobs?
Sales Associate
It was easy, they asked simple questions. Like, tell me about your experiences, some leadership questions, sales experiences, and conflict questions. As long as you can answer basic questions, you'll be fine. There were two interviews. I think one was with a manager, and the next was with the sales manager, possibly the General Manager. Mine was with the sales manager.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Tell me about your past experiences.
- Can you share some leadership experiences?
