First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LendUp.
Account Coordinator
I applied online and a recruiter reached out within a week to schedule a phone screen. After the phone screen, they scheduled an in-person interview which took two hours and I interviewed with three team members. I received an offer the next day. They really care about whether you're excited about the company.
- Can you share an instance where you managed a conflict?
- What is your motivation for joining this company?
Account Coordinator
The interview process was extremely disorganized, taking weeks to get responses and with no explanation provided. The recruiter, Ana, was initially supposed to call at 5 PM but called at 8 PM due to a time zone difference, which she repeated multiple times. After the initial recruiter call, they said they needed a week for the next steps but gave no reason. A week later, an interview was scheduled on the job site. The candidate went to the Richmond office and spoke with three different people individually. All three asked the exact same questions, with two interviewers appearing to read from a script via video call. The questions were generic and the interviewers seemed bored. Another week passed before Ana called again to say the candidate didn't get the job, without answering follow-up emails asking why. The candidate observed that employees in the Richmond office looked unhappy and communication between departments seemed poor. The candidate also noted that Rik, who supposedly monitors feedback, had ignored previous emails.
- Why do you want to work here?
- What are your goals?
Account Coordinator
I got in touch with a recruiter at the company, and they got back to me pretty quickly for a 15-minute phone screen. It was a really laid-back chat. After that, they set up an in-person interview, which involved four 30-minute sessions with different people from the company. It felt more like a casual conversation with a few STAR method questions thrown in. They gave me a good sense of the job and the company, and I felt like they were being upfront about everything. Overall, it was a positive experience.
