Business Development
The interview process was good and easy going. I liked the company culture. I would have loved to work there in Chicago. I'm still awaiting responses and will know in a couple weeks, I'm hoping. Looking forward to it.
- What's a skill you have outside of academics that you could teach someone else?
Asset Recovery Specialist
The interview process was a bit long but you could tell they make sure that each candidate they hire is the right fit. My initial contact was with the lovely HR assistant who did an initial screening, asked some basic questions and set up an interview with the HR manager. A day or so later I interviewed with the HR manager as well as my future manager. This was also a fairly laid back interview where they asked about my previous experience. The final interview was with the CEO as well the Chief Risk Officer which was more in-depth on my overall goals and 5-year plan.
- How do you feel about speaking with customers over the phone?
- Can you describe a time you had to handle a difficult or angry customer?
Sales
The HR recruiter called me to set up an interview. I met with her, the CMO, and the inside sales manager. As a FYI, this company provides merchant cash advances. Since it takes a percentage of future sales, the return rates can be rather high. Companies like this are getting heavily scrutinized with politicians trying to regulate their practices. After researching the specifics, I did not feel comfortable moving forward with employment.
- How would you go about researching a prospect?
Human Resources Assistant
First, there was a phone screen, and then they set up the in-person interviews. My first in-person interviews were with the HR Manager, VP of Finance, and Director of Operations. That whole meeting was 90 minutes long. The HR Manager got back to me a few days later to set up the final interviews with an admin team member and the CEO. They made a final decision about two weeks after that last interview.
- What would you wear to the Oscars?
