First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Leisure Care.
Front Desk Receptionist
You can check Ackerly's website for current openings. You'll still need to fill out a paper application, which they'll have you do in person if your appointment was scheduled online or by phone. They sometimes keep applications on file and reach out later, even if they aren't hiring for a role right now. Pro tip: find out the name of the person who scheduled your interview beforehand, as the receptionist might not always be aware of upcoming interviews.
- Would you be okay with working the required shifts, which are 7am-3pm, 3-11pm, or 11pm-7am?
- Are you comfortable using equipment designed to help lift a person who has fallen into a sitting position?
LVN Charge Nurse
Had a phone interview, then an in-person interview, followed by a second in-person interview where I toured the facility. Then a third in-person interview meeting the staff and GM, and finally a fourth interview with the Corporate Nurse. The interviews were long, but they wanted to make sure it was the perfect fit, which I understood.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
Corporate Office
It was a 3 part interview. First I met with the department manager and then with some executives. I was a bit intimidated at the start, but after chatting with the staff, the vibe became pretty casual. I got called back for my second interview just an hour after the first meeting. Overall, it was a great experience.
- Tell me about your experience with standard interview questions.
Health and Wellness Director
I had an initial recruiter call, then a phone interview with corporate folks. The main interview was about 45-60 minutes long, where I met some of the staff at the facility and got a brief tour. A background check was also part of the process.
- Tell me about the most challenging task you've faced.
