I met with the owner and they showed me a PowerPoint about the company and talked about me joining. I specifically asked if it was a sales job since I don't like sales, and they said no, I wouldn't be selling anything. So I quit my job to work there, but it turned out to be door-to-door sales. I only lasted two weeks and they didn't even give me the $300 bonus they promised for signing on and finishing training.

It was amazing! Very detailed with a slide show and everything. She made sure to go over everything with me and make sure that I had no unanswered questions at the end. I liked that she also got to know me in the beginning, which lets me know that they care what kind of people they allow to represent their company. That is huge to me, because it lets me know that there is a higher chance of me working with high quality people. I see that to be important because I will be seeing them all week long. Some places I have interviewed, it was just a numbers game but Lei is all about building a family!

I got a call from a recruiter at LEI who found my resume online. We chatted about my background and the company, and then I went to their office in West Chester for an interview. The interviewer was nice and gave me a lot of info about the job, the company, and growth paths. It was a bit weird when a new hire just walked in and sat behind me during the interview, but we continued. At the end, I asked about salary, and she said it was 30k base plus commission. Even though it was less than my old job, I was still interested. A few days later, I got a short offer email asking about a start date. I replied asking for more details on salary and benefits because the offer letter wasn't very clear. She called back, confirming the 30k base and mentioning that people in my role average $300-$350 per week as base pay, which didn't seem right. I emailed back to clarify the math because the numbers didn't add up, and also asked if the start date could be moved. Her response confused me more, explaining a 'base plus commissions' structure and that training, including orientation on pay, started on my offered date, and couldn't be postponed. It seemed like they had a strange way of defining base salary, and the whole experience felt unprofessional with lots of red flags.

The interview lasted about 10-15 minutes. They asked all the usual interview questions and I learned a lot about the company, including the pay structure, job details, and advancement opportunities. They asked if I thought I could do the job and be successful there. That was pretty much it. They said they'd call by the end of the week about their decision, but I didn't get a call. I did get an offer email about two weeks later, which I respectfully declined.
