I applied online and got a quick response. I had a video screening call with the hiring manager to talk about the job, my goals, LegitScript, and the work. It seemed interesting, so I wanted to continue. The hiring manager asked me to confirm my location for remote work, which I did. She mentioned needing to check legal/tax stuff and then, to my surprise, I got rejected the next day saying I wasn't eligible. It's a bit frustrating since my location was on my resume. At least I didn't waste time on a writing exercise or more interviews. I was keen to move forward, but maybe it's for the best given some concerning reviews about the company's hiring and work experience.

The interview process has three parts: a screening exercise, a phone interview, and a final interview. The screening exercise is a sample of the actual work, designed to assess your skills and help you gauge your interest in the role. Next, there's a quick phone call with a recruiter to go over your background and introduce you to the company. The final interview, which lasted a bit over two hours for me, will likely involve your potential manager and a department head or another team member. It combines questions about your past experiences with another exercise. The whole process was well-organized, and everyone I met was professional, friendly, and easy to talk to, which made a stressful situation more comfortable. It felt more like a natural conversation than a formal interrogation.

The interview process started with a phone screening, followed by a research skills test which I really enjoyed and thought was a great way to assess skills and interest. However, it was time-consuming. There were significant delays in scheduling, and when the interviews finally happened, they were panel-style with live skills tests. This was quite nerve-wracking for me as an independent worker, especially when sharing my work. I was surprised by this, as the job description seemed suited for introverts, but the interview format would be very stressful for anyone not highly outgoing and confident. Each stage took several weeks, so the entire process spanned months. Ultimately, I didn't get the position, likely due to my nervousness. While the company might be good, they have a very rigorous selection process.
