The interview experience wasn't great, felt like they weren't serious about hiring. Started with an HR screen, then I met the hiring manager. They asked me to do a case study presentation for the team. Even though I hesitated about doing free work, I did it and presented. The next day, I found out the team decided against me because I didn't cover something that wasn't even in the case study instructions.

I talked to the recruiter first. He was very nice and friendly, telling me about the company and the job, and letting me ask questions.

I interviewed at the Glendale office and had multiple phone interviews, an in-person interview with 6 different LZ department heads, and a follow-up where the recruiter asked for my references as the last step before their decision-making. LZ did not contact my references and never got back to me. This is after weeks of continual communication and hours of investment on my part. For months I followed up with my HR contact at LegalZoom, and did not receive so much as a courtesy update on my application or the role. There are plenty of similar reviews on Glassdoor, specifically at this branch. I wish I had heeded their advice before investing so much in this opportunity. I had higher expectations for their hiring process and see this as an indication of greater chaos within the LZ Human Resources department.
