First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LegalShield.
Software Engineer
It was a four step process, not very tech focused, not indicative of what it really ended up being like. It was pretty simple and straight forward, but like most places they made it seem a lot different than it ended up being after I started the job. One of the weird things was a manager I interviewed with said something like "if you're willing to put in the extra hours, you know 45 or more hours a week" you really have the opportunity to do a lot here. I should have spent a little more time listening and thinking about how they described the work environment and how the team worked together.
- Describe a challenging situation with a coworker and how you resolved it.
Digital Experience Manager
First, I applied for the job. Then, there was a one-hour phone screen with HR. After that, I had a one-hour interview with the hiring manager. The final interview was with someone in an executive role. While the initial interactions were positive, the last interview was quite unpleasant. The interviewer was very rude and unprofessional. This interview was supposed to be 30 minutes, but it ended up going on for over an hour.
- Tell me about a time you used data to improve a user's shopping experience.
- Share an example of a strategy you used to turn a website visitor into a paying customer.
Marketing
The interview was mainly based on whether or not the interviewer or upper management liked you. They did check references, but they asked if they could first, which I found a little strange. The questions were based on what they knew, not industry specific things. Next time, I'd ask to see the work environment instead of staying in an isolated conference room.
- Are you available to work Monday through Friday?
Customer Service Representative
I went to the office and did the application and a skills test for typing and 10-key. I had a phone interview and then was called back for a one on one interview. A few days later, I was called in and told I was hired. Dress appropriately and be clean for interviews. Speak clearly and don't use slang. The people I met were friendly and the office had a warm atmosphere.
