First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Legal Services of the Hudson Valley.
Legal Intern
So, for the interview, I was asked to draft questions and then interview some nonimmigrant domestic violence victims who were looking for U-Visas. I also had to help an attorney with some legal research for an asylum case. On top of that, I drafted reports that would be used as evidence in an asylum brief that was going to be filed with the Immigration Court of the Department of Justice Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).

Manager
I was first pre-screened by someone from the department. They asked me questions about my background, my skills, and what I thought about the work. Then, I moved on to interview with the senior department head. During that interview, we both asked each other questions. They explained the role well and showed how they collaborate.

- What are your skills?
- What is your general view of the work we do here?
Front Desk Receptionist
It was great. Super nice people interviewing and very understanding. Three people were in the interview asking questions. They also asked questions about yourself and how do you handle multitasking.

Staff Attorney
I got a call back soon after sending in my resume and other stuff. Then within a week, I had another call with some higher-ups. It's been a year since my interview and I still haven't heard anything back, not even a rejection. This public service place couldn't even be bothered to let candidates know if they didn't get the job.
- What about this role sparks your interest?
