Marketing Director
applied via on line posting and due to my follow up spoke to HR on phone and an interview was scheduled with manager; met with manager and told a mtg would be set with partners; weeks later mtg was set to meet first with affilliate business as well as partners. was told all was good and they would make decisions quickly; sent thank you and got a quick response back "all was good will get back to me" after one week i followed up and was told they were revisting structure and would make a decision in 60- 90 days! i followed up after I saw postion reposted after 60 days; heard back from HR that i was not chosen as candidate. I checked with contacts and was told position was filled; saw postion REPOSTED a week ago! Complete disrespect for candidates.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
Field Manager
First, there was a quick phone screening. Then, I met with the Director of the program at a bar in a hotel. We chatted for about an hour. He was drinking a beer and even offered me one, which I declined. Since I had previously held the exact same position with a competitor, we talked about my past experience, what I thought was good and bad about that role, and how I would approach this job. At the end of the interview, he essentially told me I got the job, although he couldn't officially confirm it. He then instructed me to prepare for travel to Chicago in four days for training. It was a very straightforward interview, likely made easier by my extensive experience in a similar role and the fact that the position was for an event marketing program.
- What's the toughest part of marketing tobacco products?
Graphic Designer
The whole hiring process was really fast, under a week. I had a phone chat the day after applying, and then went into the office a few days after that. It was a pretty relaxed vibe in the office, with cool decor, nice views, and good conference areas. The people interviewing me were friendly and it felt more like a casual talk than a formal interview, no weird questions. I didn't get the job in the end, as it came down to me and another person. However, the HR person did call to let me know, and was super nice about it, which was really appreciated since most companies don't seem to bother with that anymore these days.
- What are your sources of inspiration?
Account Coordinator
It was a very personal and practical experience. All the employees created a welcoming environment. The interview process broke away from the routine and actually provided substance. I was brought on a tour by HR and interviewed directly with the hiring manager, which was important.
