Software Development Test Engineer
Applied online and got contacted by a recruiter within a couple of days. Things were a bit rocky at first but smoothed out. Had an initial chat with a Hiring Manager about my experience and technologies, which went well. Then, I was invited for an on-site interview in NYC, scheduled for 2 days later. The 3-hour on-site started with the team's Director, who gave a great overview of the company and his expectations. We then did an interactive whiteboard session where I had to explain my approach to a scenario. Next, I met with potential teammates, followed by a final round with hiring managers focusing on my skills, whiteboard coding, and a general discussion. It was a very interactive and fun process, and the last round really helped me decide.

Software Engineer
Applied via linkedin and was contacted by a recruiter for a phone interview. The phone interview was with a senior software engineer and covered relevant, to-the-point topics, including basic to advanced JAVA concepts. The next stage was an onsite interview that lasted about 4 hours. The engineers I met were great, but HR was a mess. HR took 7 days to respond after I followed up. They wanted an immediate phone acceptance, which I didn't give. I wanted to discuss Glassdoor reviews with senior management. HR arranged a meeting but became defensive when asked about the reviews. I noticed some overly positive reviews on Glassdoor afterwards. Regarding my H1B/Green Card, they initially promised to transfer my H1B and restart my Green Card process (I have I-140 approval, so restarting was crucial to avoid leaving the country). However, they later changed their stance, saying they couldn't promise the Green Card. I questioned why they wasted my time, given I was upfront about being an international applicant. They said they'd get back to me. Ultimately, the offer was rescinded, allegedly because I took too long to accept, even though I was following up with them and still within their stated deadline. I suspect they found someone else and removed the listing shortly after. I'm glad I didn't join due to the visa uncertainty.

Sales Associate
The interview process started with a phone interview to check my experience. Then, another phone interview to check my sales ability. After that, I had an in-person group interview to see if I'd fit the company culture. The last step was a final in-person interview where I had to show I could do the job tasks. The whole process was pretty friendly and conversational, which felt right for this kind of job. It seemed like they really wanted to understand if I knew about personal finance and if I could sell stuff without scaring people off.
- Have you worked in sales before?
- Tell me about your experience in sales.
- Do you have any sales experience?
Digital Marketing Associate
Applied online and heard back from HR about a week later. Then had a phone screen with the office manager and sent writing samples. After that, interviewed in the office with the marketing manager, who showed up late. Followed up and was asked to submit work samples for a prompt. After that, things got weird. Every time I followed up, I was told I'd hear back next week. After about a month total, I got rejected. I felt pretty good about it until they stopped giving me feedback on my samples and I'm not sure what I could have done differently.
