I applied in early November and got a call in early December to check if I was still interested because they sent an email I missed. Turns out it was in my spam folder, and I confirmed I was still interested. I had 5 interviews over two weeks. Most were with the team, but they didn't seem very prepared and asked the same basic questions like weaknesses and strengths. The early interviews went well; interviewers were excited and even pointed out who would train me. The final interview with the COO was awkward and uncomfortable, like he wasn't interested and maybe already had someone picked. HR VP later said I was great but they hired an internal candidate. It makes you wonder why they interview external people if they're just going to promote internally; it's a waste of time and doesn't reflect well on the company or the internal candidate.

So I had 3 stages in total. First, a quick call with the hiring manager, then I spoke to the Managing Director, and finally, I had a panel interview with 4 key people. The process was pretty good up to the last part - they got back to me within a day after each of the first two interviews. I was told the final interview would be with two people, but when I joined the call, there were actually four. I managed okay, but honestly, that's not great planning and could really throw some people off. It took them nearly 4 weeks to tell me the result after the final stage, and I had to chase the hiring manager twice for an update. Also, the feedback was basically just 'someone else was more experienced', which is pretty weak, especially coming from a HR Manager!

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Applied via a recruiter and had an initial screening. Then had a first stage telephone call with the head of department (HOD) which was good. Passed two assessments. A week later, had an in-person interview with the HOD, got a tour, met people, and did an in-house assessment, received good feedback. Final stage was meeting the managing director (MD) for a 45-minute interview. The MD mostly talked about himself, his achievements, 'turning the company around', the office refurbishment, his French skills, and didn't give much chance to talk about myself. Left feeling disappointed. The next day, the recruiter called saying the HOD was disappointed to say no offer because the MD felt I didn't have enough experience to hit the ground running. Questioned how I got to the final stage if experience was an issue and suggested the process needs review.

It was a straightforward interview process. I met with two different people in person. The interview was generally pleasant, and they asked direct questions. Everyone was on time and prepared.
