The process was straightforward. After applying over the weekend, I had an interview the very next Monday to schedule a same-day interview. I spoke with the center director and assistant director, who inquired about my background, availability, and how I'd engage with parents and colleagues. They also asked about my approach to specific scenarios. The following day, I was asked to do an observation, spending forty-five minutes in two different classrooms. I left the premises, and they contacted me an hour later to offer me the position. My employment commenced a week thereafter.

I interviewed during high school for an after-school job that could become full-time after graduation or during the summer. The Program Director first called me to see if I was interested, assess my experience, and answer my questions. Then, I had a more detailed in-person interview where I reviewed the curriculum and discussed how I'd handle hypothetical classroom management, discipline, and parent issues. They made an offer, but it was less than I wanted, though the job itself is worth the pay difference.

The phone interview was really laid-back. The director introduced herself and made a point to say my name right, which was nice. She asked about my past experience, both with and without childcare, why I'd be a good fit compared to others, what salary I was looking for, and which age group I liked best.

It was a brief and chaotic interview touching on my past experience. I had to sit in a classroom to observe how a class would run. They asked a lot about my availability. The interviewer and other staff seemed disorganized and overworked. I received a lot of information about the job, and the position seemed to involve many different responsibilities.

  • Are you willing to drive a bus?
