The interviewer was nice but talked a lot, spending over an hour talking about himself and the company. Most of the time was him talking instead of about the work. I was also ignored for almost an hour before the session started. It seemed unprepared, as when I arrived, the manager asked who was going to interview me, and the recruiter said no, so the manager had to ask multiple times to cover. Then, after almost an hour, the interview started with the woman for about an hour, then more than an hour with the guy.

I applied online and about 3 days later, the front desk manager called me to set up an in-person meet and greet. When I got to the hotel, it was pretty relaxed, with the manager interviewing me in the lounge. After about 20-30 minutes, he introduced me to the General Manager who happened to be around. We chatted briefly about what they expect and the team vibe. The manager was upfront about how many other people were being interviewed, which was good because I could keep looking at other jobs while waiting.

The whole process took about a month from the first interview to getting the offer. The initial interview was with the hiring manager, who was an HR executive and manager in my case. For other departments, candidates interviewed with the Head of Department. After passing the first interview, there was an assessment on the Marriott website. If successful, candidates were invited for a second interview with an HR manager or Director.

After I sent my resume, which clearly listed my experience and skills, I was invited to an interview. During the interview, questions were asked whose answers were already in my resume – it seemed like it wasn't read beforehand. This seemed unprofessional – if a candidate isn't a fit, that should be clarified beforehand instead of wasting both parties' time. The phrase "Never give up" at the end sounded ironic – precisely this attitude should be shown by staff themselves when dealing respectfully with people.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Ich wünsche Ihnen, dass Sie in Zukunft zuerst den Lebenslauf einer Person lesen und erst dann zum Vorstellungsgespräch einladen.
