I thought my interview process was going well, but I never heard back after the second interview. They initially said I'd hear from them within two weeks, but that never happened.

Behavioral Presentation

We had an online interview for about 30-45 minutes. It began with a quick intro to the brand and company. Then, I was asked questions about myself, why I wanted to work with Le Labo, and my past work experience. After the online part, I had a face-to-face interview at the store.

Behavioral Other

The interview process at Le Labo under Estee Lauder was a disorganized and unprofessional mess. Although store positions are considered entry-level, the interview felt trivial and childish. They asked strange questions like 'if you were a colour, what colour would you be?', which was internally cringe-worthy. There are better ways to assess candidates professionally, like discussing their relevant experience in depth, rather than using generic HR tactics. They also inquired about salary expectations, despite clearly offering a low hourly wage. It's pointless to ask for salary expectations for a store job like 'lab technician' unless the candidate can negotiate a very high salary. After the initial interview, there was no follow-up, not even a basic email indicating the outcome, which is unprofessional and a waste of time.

I sent in my application in January, and at first, they said no management jobs were open but they'd let me know if something came up. About three to four months later, I followed up with an email, and lo and behold, a Store Manager position had opened up. The interview was on Skype with two HR people. A lot of the questions they asked didn't really seem related to the job I applied for. They seemed more interested in my thoughts on where their brand stands compared to the market and other companies. I thought it was a bit strange for a store manager role, as I expected questions about my management style and experience. They never got back to me after that, which I found pretty disrespectful given I invested time in applying and interviewing, and didn't even get a response.
