First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LC Waikiki.
HR Specialist
The interview process can be quite extensive. It often starts with a recruiter reaching out on LinkedIn to schedule the interview. You'll then go through several screening tests, followed by about 3 or 4 in-person interviews. The process concludes with a final Assessment Center/Personality Assessment.
- Can you tell me about your overall HR experience?
- Have you ever used an assessment center in your recruitment work before?
Logistics Specialist
So there were four interviews in total. First was a global reasoning test, which had 32 questions in 32 minutes, and then a 460-question personality test. Second, I talked with the team leader and a lecturer. They asked stuff like what are your strengths and weaknesses, and what you do at your current job. Third was an interview with the boss, asking why I chose LC Waikiki. The fourth part was the assessment center, which included a Presentation Application (90 mins prep, 15 mins presentation with a Q&A afterwards, max 15 mins for Q&A, needs PowerPoint) and a Role Play Application (15 mins prep, 15 mins mutual role play with the assessor). The assessment center has different role-play scenarios like interaction with a dependent employee, a colleague, or a customer (negotiation). They check candidates based on principles (specialist vs. managerial roles).
- Tell me about your strengths.
- What about your weaknesses?
- What are your responsibilities in your current role?
Assistant Translator
I applied for the Expatriate Assistant/Translator role through a major Turkish job site. After not hearing back from my initial application in October '14, I reapplied in May '15 with an updated CV. This time, I was contacted the following week. They sent an email with directions to the company and the HR contact person. I also received a personality assessment test to complete before the in-person interview. On the interview day, the HR executive administered a one-hour translation test, split between Turkish and English. Following the test, we discussed my CV, experiences, interests, and my reasons for wanting to work at LC Waikiki. The HR executive mentioned they were looking for an expatriate and would contact me for a second interview. A few days later, they called to offer me the position and scheduled a meeting with an expatriate, who already had a personal assistant. This second interview was more of a pre-review. I met with a fashion designer and her assistant. The designer reviewed my CV and asked role-related questions. Afterwards, the initial HR executive and another HR representative joined me for a simultaneous translation test, requiring me to translate between Turkish and English. This format was new to me, causing me to struggle and feel nervous. After the test, the HR executive asked if I felt capable of performing the job despite my nervousness. They were professional and friendly throughout.
- On your way in, how did you perceive LC Waikiki?
- Why do you want to work for us?
- Do you have an interest in fashion and do you keep up with designers?
QA Automation Engineer
I went through an interview process for an SDET role. It kicked off with a technical interview where we talked about my background in automation frameworks and tools like Selenium and REST API. We also covered how I've used automation in CI/CD and managed testing issues. The last part was with the team lead, who asked about my approach to problem-solving and how I work with developers. It was a professional and comfortable experience.
- Could you tell me about your background and experience?
- Describe your approach to testing a coffee machine.
- What are your primary motivators in a work setting?
