First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LBBD.
Legal Assistant/Paralegal
I sent in my application online in early October. They got back to me with an interview invite in late November. The interview was online and there were 3 people on the panel: the principal lawyer, another senior manager, and an officer. They asked me 8 questions, and it lasted about 30-45 minutes.
- Tell me about something you're proud of.
- What's your approach when you're unsure about something?
- Could you provide an example of statute law?
Data Performance Analyst
The interview process started with a 15-minute timed Excel exercise sent via email. This was followed by a 1-hour panel interview with the Customer Experience & Digital Improvement manager, Digital Delivery Manager, and Head of Customer Contact, which included competency-based questions. During this interview, I got to learn more about the role, current projects, and the organization's vision. An offer was extended within a few days.
- Can you share an instance where you had to explain a complex concept?
- Describe a situation where you faced competing priorities.
- Tell me about a time you managed interactions with multiple stakeholders.
NGDP
The interview process involved meeting with two section heads at the Town Hall. The invitation was arranged via email between NGDP and the Council. The interviewers were quite friendly. I found out about not receiving an offer relatively quickly.
- Can you explain your motivation for choosing to work for this specific Borough among all the others in London?
Customer Service Officer
It was pretty standard. They had me come in to meet the manager of the OSS or department. They asked a few questions, and it didn't take more than 20 minutes. Then they'll call to let you know if you got the job.
- How would you handle customers who are upset or angry?
