Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lawrence Technological University.
Adjunct Instructor
The staff were wonderful and welcoming. I expected a higher caliber of staffing with a more intuitive focus on practical pedagogy. The questions were based around this premise.
- How do you apply a particular philosophy in practical terms?
- Questions regarding teaching philosophy.
International Ambassador
I was tasked with setting and sharing clear goals with my teammates. I also had to build relationships with students from more than ten different countries to help them settle into campus life. My role involved assisting students with moving in and joining them for international Welcome Week events after they arrived in the US. Additionally, I mentored international students by helping plan and run events like the International Festival, Chinese New Year, and Holi Celebration.
- Can you share your international experience?
Admissions Counselor
I applied for something else but the admissions director reached out about an admissions counselor role. They called me for a phone interview, but were super vague and never got back to me or answered my questions, even though they said they would. They actually suggested this role to me. I'm qualified because I've interviewed for similar roles at bigger schools, but they seem to favor their own alumni even if they lack experience. It was pretty rude not to follow up like they promised.
- Do you know the territory you'd be responsible for?
Assistant Football Coach
The people were great, the support was great, and it was a great experience. The coaches were honest and upfront about expectations. They were willing to help with open arms. I would recommend this position to anyone that wants to get their coaching career started.
- What's your motivation for being interested in this opportunity?
