& Process

The interview process was incredibly unprofessional and the interviewers seemed unwilling to consider any experience outside of their exact prior roles. One interviewer's tone was almost mocking. It was shocking how unprofessional they were. The interviewers also seemed very unprepared, as if they hadn't reviewed my resume at all, leaving a really bad impression of the company.

There were 3 rounds of interviews with some upper-level managers and my future manager. The first interview was behavioral, and the next two were technical, focusing on my engineering and problem-solving skills.

The interview process started with a phone interview, then an in-person meeting with HR, the Engineering Manager, and one of the three Process Engineers. After that, I had a second interview which involved an onsite problem-solving exercise similar to others mentioned. During this presentation, I shared my solution, insights from production worker data, and my own observations. I presented to five managers who asked about my approach, how I'd handle change with process stakeholders, and what additional info would have been helpful, seeming to look for 'out of the box' thinking. An offer came a few days later, which I accepted. However, I left within two months due to a long commute (1.5 hours) and a relative's declining health. I learned this process is standard for all roles, and while it's lengthy, I appreciated seeing the actual work involved and found the engineers I met to be exceptional. If circumstances allowed, I'd happily return, as there seems to be good growth potential here.

We started with a quick phone chat, then the recruiter called me back to set up an in person interview. During the in person part, I had to take an aptitude test. After that, the plant manager and supervisor did a presentation. The recruiter will call me with their decision after the in person interview.
