I saw the job online and applied. The recruiter contacted me for an initial phone call. The recruiter was nice and explained the role and what they were looking for. He said he would meet with the CFO and get back to me about a phone interview with him for the next week. He scheduled a 15-minute phone interview with the CFO. The CFO called me and it was really loud, like he was in his car or walking. He said he didn't have my resume and wanted me to go over it. He asked detailed questions about my experience and let me ask one question. He ended the interview quickly without letting me ask more. He said they would decide who would interview onsite and the recruiter would contact me within a week. The whole call was only 13 minutes. I knew I wouldn't get a callback for the onsite. He didn't seem interested, so I don't know why the call happened. I got an email a week later saying they were moving on with other candidates. It seems like a good company, but candidates spend time researching and thinking about how they can contribute long-term. It would be good to show them the same respect and not waste their time if you aren't interested in hiring them.

Had a quick phone chat with someone on the team, it was super casual. We just talked about my past jobs and I did a quick verbal thing where they asked how I'd juggle different tasks. Later that day, they called to set up a panel interview for the next Monday. I met with the Director of Operations and the Chief of Staff. It was informal again. We chatted about what I wanted in a job, how my past work fit, and my time management. By Friday, I had a 1-on-1 with the CEO, which was more formal but pretty standard. Right after I left, I got the offer, and started the next Monday!

Coding Behavioral

Got contacted by an engineer for a phone screen, which was more of a casual chat about my skills and background. Also got to ask questions about the role and interview process. Then I received a small coding project: set up a basic Javascript page that fetches data from an external API. I finished the project in a few days and sent it back. But then... radio silence. I sent a follow-up email, but still nothing. It was pretty rude, honestly, felt like they didn't respect my time at all.
