Business Analyst
I had an interview with the company and it was a good experience, even though I didn't get the job. Everyone was nice, and they even gave me feedback on why I wasn't selected. It seems like a good company. They didn't ignore me or anything. I'm still looking for a job, which is fine, but my interview experience was totally fine.

Marketing
I applied online. The recruiter messaged me on a weekend to schedule an interview, which felt off since they were working on a Sunday afternoon. Then, the recruiter was late to our meeting. They also said they'd send some links for more info but never did, though it wasn't a big deal. I asked about some concerning company reviews, and they mentioned that support staff had to be in-office all day, which included paid parking with variable pricing based on arrival time, but they assured me that wouldn't apply to me. The whole explanation seemed dismissive and low-class. I got bad vibes and wasn't keen to continue.
- What makes you want to work for Employer Direct?
Proposal Strategy Lead
I applied for a job that sounded like a Lead Proposal Writer, but the role was actually about preliminary bid review to decide whether to quote or not. I knew I wouldn't get it since my background is writing, not management. The recruiter, Anthony, was nice and knowledgeable, and I got notified when they moved on with other candidates, which is appreciated.
- Can you describe your current employer's bid approval process and your role in it?
- What criteria do you use to approve a bid?
- How do you gather information to justify declining a bid?
Software Engineer
The HR interview and the chat with the engineering manager went well and were straightforward. The live coding round involved a pretty simple task. I came up with a basic solution without using any external libraries and talked through its time complexity, basically thinking out loud the whole time and trying to get feedback. But the interviewer mostly stayed quiet or gave unhelpful, vague answers. I suggested ways to improve it and different approaches to try and get a discussion going, but the only thing I got back was, “I don’t know, you tell me.” It was pretty annoying because I had no clue if my solution was on the right track or if we should dig into it more before moving on. Only when I specifically asked for feedback at the very end did the interviewer share what they were looking for. For most of the time, it felt like I was just talking to myself.
- Can you implement a string validation for a given input?
