First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LANNER ELECTRONICS USA.
Production Technician
It was a pretty straightforward interview, but they asked quite a few non-technical questions for the role. The interviewers seemed nice and were pleasant throughout. It felt like they were really trying to find someone to fill the position since they brought up physical labor, and the work environment didn't seem like it had much to offer. I'd consider the job if they offer it, but I'll keep looking for other opportunities.
- Can you tell me about your previous jobs?
- What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?
- What are your strong and weak points?
Engineering Trainee
The interview had only one technician. They asked very basic questions about computer hardware, like identifying the CPU, heat sink, and understanding interface knowledge. One unexpected question was about being able to lift 50 lb of stuff, which made me think they might be looking for a worker rather than an engineer.
- Which component is the CPU?
- What is a heat sink?
- What are the functions of the interface?
Engineering Trainee
I found the job on craigslist and applied via email. The next day, HR called to schedule an on-site interview. During the HR call, they asked two quick questions: how I found the job and why I'm a good fit. Then, I had the on-site interview with two engineers.
- What's your knowledge on the latest Intel?
- What do you know about the latest SoC?
- Explain your process for troubleshooting a no-boot situation.
Project Engineer
I had an initial phone screening, then my first interview was with the HR manager and the Hiring manager. After passing that, my second interview was with the GM over Skype. Both interviews were pretty relaxed and simple. I really liked Maggie Hu, the HR manager; she was super nice, professional, and helpful.
- Would you be comfortable with making cold calls?
