First up, you'll chat with HR for about 30 minutes. After that, the directors will review your answers and decide if you're a good fit. If they like you, you'll get a test assignment. Once they're happy with your assignment, you'll have a final 2-hour interview with different departments.

The interview process began with a phone call from HR. Following that, I had a 1-on-1 Skype interview with the CEO. The CEO was very engaged and knowledgeable about the new translation department, which reports directly to him. He showed a strong interest in how the patent translations would proceed and also in me as a person, not just as a potential Translation Project Manager. While they primarily seek German or Japanese speakers due to the origin of most patents, they were open to my French and Russian language skills. As the Project Manager is involved in the four-step translation process, comfort with formatting and correcting documents to match source formats is essential, regardless of the language pair.
