First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Landmark Recovery.
Therapist
I submitted my application through Indeed and got an email not long after to schedule an interview. I had an interview with a recruiter from the company, and they were the ones who ultimately sent me my offer letter. I didn't have any other interviews after the first one with the recruiter. I met the rest of my management team once I was hired and began training.
- What type of experience were you hoping to gain?
Executive Director
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn about an Executive Director opening and I interviewed with the COO and Regional Director. It was a casual chat where we discussed my leadership and operational background and I asked questions about the company. A few days later, the recruiter said they decided to go with an internal candidate. After that, they seemed interested and gave me two start dates and a verbal salary offer, then stopped communicating. Eventually, they said they were sticking with their original leadership plan. This whole experience felt disorganized and strange, but it turned out to be a good thing because I've since read about major issues at Landmark Recovery, like erratic company-wide emails and awkward LinkedIn posts from the CEO, a weird employee handbook, and executives bragging about training for 'weak' employees on LinkedIn, right before facilities closed due to lack of training. They offer good pay and titles, but the company seems unstable financially and culturally. I don't think it's a sustainable operation. I'd reconsider working there based on what I've seen and read.
- Can we have a conversational discussion about your leadership abilities?
- Can we have a conversational discussion about your operational experience?
SVP Marketing
They started with a phone interview, then an in-person one where they flew me to Nashville. The in-person was in a hotel lobby because their facility wasn't ready. They scheduled a 15-hour travel day for me for less than two hours of interviews, which seemed like a way to get cheap airfare. They also asked for a presentation with detailed, free recommendations. After all that, they didn't reimburse my Uber/Lyft expenses and ignored my follow-ups. It feels like a shady place to avoid.
- How do you deal with burnout?
Intake RN
Had a 30 minute chat with the recruiter, and then on the same day had a video interview with a leadership person. They said they'd let me know the next day, and I got the offer 2 days after the interview. Super quick process.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
