First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lakeside Software.
Sales Engineer
The interview process was quick and informative. The recruiter was responsive and provided detailed information about each stage. They gave good feedback on the role and expectations, and I felt comfortable asking questions, even about sensitive topics like salary.
- Can you tell me about your career highlights and what your long-term outlook is?
Sales Development Representative
I recently interviewed for an SDR position and wanted to share my experience. The process was structured and transparent, consisting of three main stages: First up was an HR phone call, about 30 minutes long, covering basic info about my background, why I'm interested in the role, and my understanding of the company's products. The HR rep was friendly and made sure I was comfortable. After that, I got a skills assessment test. This included a mix of situational judgment tests and some technical questions relevant to the role. It was a bit challenging but fair, focusing on problem-solving skills and sales knowledge. The final stage was a panel interview with the hiring manager and two senior SDRs. This was more in-depth, focusing on my past sales experience, lead generation strategies, and how I handle rejection and objections. They also gave me a role-play scenario to show my pitching skills. Everyone was professional and gave constructive feedback. Overall, the interview process was rigorous but fair, and it gave me a good sense of the company culture and what the role expects. I appreciated the clear communication and timely updates.
- Do you enjoy using the phone?
FP&A Director
I applied through Greenhouse, and a TA Partner emailed me within a few days to set up a Zoom call with TA. That went well, and I continued through the process to meet with the CFO and CPO. All the interviews were easy-going, yet covered a lot of material in 30 minutes - thoughtful questions from the Lakeside team, and an opportunity to ask questions myself. I appreciated the candid answers and discussion as well as the efficient & transparent interview process led by the TA team.
- On a scale of 1 to 10, what would you say your Excel skills are?
- What's your experience with Bamboo HR, Adaptive, and similar tools?
Inside Sales Executive
One of the worse interviews I’ve experienced in the last five years. Direct manager who interview me seemed nervous and most likely new. I’m not sure if he was busy or just had more pressing issues to attend to. He asked repeated questions from our phone screening and carried most of interview out like a military drill Sargent. Never once did he pause to dig deeper or even consume the information. Seems like this company is stuck in the early 2000’s with the management style and technology used to support sales.
- Given my resume shows 6 years of selling to IT, what makes you believe I can sell to IT?
