I interviewed for a Leader Development role and had a positive initial Teams conversation. I was told to expect follow-up by a certain timeframe and was also advised that no follow-up was necessary on my end. After the stated timeline passed, I reached out for an update and was informed by email that the organization had moved forward with other candidates. While I understand hiring decisions and timelines can change, the lack of proactive communication and closure felt misaligned with the organization’s stated people-first values. Candidates invest significant time preparing, and more timely, thoughtful communication would improve the experience.

The process was really bad - lots of reschedules for both virtual and in-person meetings. I got ghosted after the in-person interviews and no one got back to me even after multiple attempts to contact them. Then, out of the blue, I got an email saying I was sent an update on 11/12/24, which I never got. When I asked them to resend that email, I was ghosted again.

The interview process involved a phone screening, then a second video interview. After that, I had a third in-person interview with two VPs which seemed to go pretty well. The process was a little lengthy, but so is everything nowadays. I did not obtain the position, but that is not my issue. If I made it to the in-person interview, there was obviously some interest. Don't tell me you will contact me and then ghost me...very poor management on executive level within the organization. Learn how to communicate via e-mail Lake Trust.
