First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lake Superior Consulting.
Technical Professional
The interview process was quite thorough and detailed. I had an initial phone call followed by an in-person interview. The questions they asked were fairly straightforward, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. It was a positive experience overall, with a quick turnaround time as I received an interview invitation just three days after applying.
- Could you describe your career aspirations over the next five years, detailing your expectations for the first year and then for the subsequent years?
Director of Marketing
I had an interview with the CEO, HR manager, and 3 directors. It was like a panel interview around a conference table, with everyone asking questions. The HR manager mainly led the discussion. The interview lasted about an hour and a half. We talked about how I'd handle company problems, my marketing approach, and how I'd deal with concerns about my age and lack of experience in certain areas.
- How will you lead the company's vision into the next ten years in this role?
Mechanical Engineer
The interview process started with HR and lasted about an hour. It was pretty standard, with questions about the role and company. They said I looked good but needed to check with the hiring manager. After two weeks, I got a rejection email saying they wanted someone more technical, which was weird since there was no technical interview. The process was professional, but I didn't really know how they were evaluating me. The benefits seem standard, but the pay isn't great, so I wasn't too upset.
- Could you give me an overview of your resume?
- What contributions do you think you can make to our team?
- Are you open to relocating?
Software Developer
The phone interview was mostly about discussing past projects and my experience with specific geographic data systems. They also asked some standard interview questions, like about my strengths and weaknesses and a time I overcame a challenge on a project.
- Have you previously worked with GIS?
- Tell me about your past projects.
- What's your experience with specific geographic data systems?
