First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Laitram.
Project Manager
It started with an HR screening call, then a call with the team, and finally a meeting with management. Honestly, in my 30 years of experience, I've only encountered this level of excellence twice before. The interviews were engaging, personal, yet also technical and insightful. Each team gradually shifted from discussing who I was as a person to asking about my technical skills and leadership abilities. It felt very conversational. Every interviewer was clearly knowledgeable, which was quite impressive. The last interview with upper management was actually enjoyable, even with some really thought-provoking questions; I was disappointed when it ended. Although it turned out not to be the right fit for me (a mutual decision), I'd definitely be interested in future opportunities there. If you're a hiring manager or HR leader, and you want to attract candidates, you should observe how this team interviews. They're great people who know how to manage candidates, and their company's reputation certainly helps. I would have loved an opportunity like this earlier in my career. I'm rating the difficulty as 'Easy' solely because they made it feel that way, even though they prompted deep reflection on my past, motivations, and technical details. The same questions from other companies would have felt very difficult.
- Can you tell me about a project where you faced technical challenges as an engineer?
Engineer
The interview process was professional and courteous, with a friendly and helpful atmosphere and interactions with staff and employees. It was a single interview, and they were prompt in responding and following up. It was enjoyable as far as interviews go.
- What is your current salary and what are your salary expectations?
Information Architect
The interview process went well, with a recruiter guiding things and access to the hiring manager for questions. I got a good feel for the company, culture, team, and role expectations. While it seemed like a good culture fit, it wasn't an excellent skill fit. I liked how the interview team collaborated.
- Can you elaborate on your experience with [specific system]?
Business Analyst
After submitting the online application, I had a zoom call. It was a pretty standard and behavioral interview. The person interviewing me was friendly and treated me well. No one got back to me after the interview.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
