You apply online, then have a phone interview. After that, there's an interview at the salon where you'll need to do a technical assessment on a model to show your skills. The phone interview covers basic questions. The one-on-one interview will be about your experience and availability. Experience with men's hair is a plus but not required. They're mainly looking for professional ladies who are eager to work!

A corporate staff member called me, and we had a brief phone chat about the job. Then we arranged an in-person interview. When I got there, they had me wait in the salon lobby. It was noisy and lively, felt like everyone was having a good time, which I liked immediately. Soon after sitting down, I met the interviewer. She was all smiles and very friendly. We went down to the basement where the offices were, and it was upbeat there too. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. She then wanted to schedule a 'working interview' to check my computer skills.

This is a simple interview since you're not hired as an employee but as a contractor (1099). There are no benefits. Everyone is responsible for sanitation and upkeep of the salon, product sales, and service upgrades. Of course, time is money, so you're expected to get through a consultation, service, and mention products. The interview also covers the services offered, the steps, and the time allotted for each, proper cleaning, folding and storage of towels and capes, signing into the system for stylists and customers, charging and taking payments, and a haircut is necessary to get the job. A model will be provided if you don't have one.

I had an interview with the owner who talked about job perks. He mentioned that I could write off breast implants on my taxes, and assured me that other girls in the company had done this and it would be fine.
