UX Designer
So, I went through 4 rounds of interviews and then the HR just ghosted me. My emails and calls were not returned. Before that, she was super nice and promised a decision in a few days.
- Can you describe your past experience?
- Walk me through your portfolio.
- Perform a brief design task in real-time.
UI/UX Designer
I was referred to the Ui/Ux Designer role by an agent from Apex Recruitment NY and applied in Feb 2020. The entire process spanned a few months, involving two phone interviews and two Webex interviews. The first phone interviewer was quite rude, and the second one rescheduled three times. I completed a take-home assignment and met the team, which I thought went reasonably well. However, neither I nor the recruiter received any update on the outcome. Apparently, the decision-making process is still on hold due to Covid. To top it off, the Apex agent went silent at the end. I'd advise against applying for any roles at this company because their HR department seems disorganized.
- Don’t even bother getting involved in the interview process
User Experience Designer
The process felt well-thought-out, starting with initial calls to gauge my focus and interests. This progressed to discussing various projects, where the questions about my work were insightful. Following that, I met with team members who were interested in my approach to different situations. A challenging yet interesting whiteboard exercise was part of the next stage. Finally, I had one-on-one meetings with a couple more individuals. I appreciated their thoroughness, the time invested, and the quality of their questions, which made me feel they were seeking a specific type of candidate. They also made a great effort to ensure I felt comfortable throughout.
- Looking back at a specific project, is there anything you would change in its design now?
