First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at L3Harris.
Test Engineer
So, it was a pretty standard interview process. First, I had a phone call. Then, they flew me out for an in-person interview. During that, we talked about what the job entailed and my past work experience. They also gave me a tour of part of the place. After that, he hit me with some specific questions about batteries and charging, which I'll detail below. This was way back in 2008.
- The interviewer stated that all batteries are 1.5V, or close to it. I think they wanted to see how I’d react to that statement, but it made me wonder if they really knew their stuff.
- What are your thoughts on the statement that all batteries are 1.5V?
Test Engineer
I had two interviews for this role. The first one was a quick 30-minute screening with the hiring manager, focusing on behavioral questions about my background and projects. The second interview was a longer, 1.5-hour technical session. It seemed like the interviewer might have some flexibility in how they conducted it, as there wasn't a strict script. I was asked to put together a presentation about a past project I worked on. Besides that, the discussion covered problem-solving skills and questions about lab test equipment.
- How do you approach problem-solving when working on a group project?
Test Engineer
So I applied for the job and about a week later, a recruiter reached out to me for a phone screening with the hiring manager. They asked me about my OOP experience, and that was it. Didn't hear back after that.
- Can you explain the difference between inheritance and composition?
