First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at L’Oréal Luxe.
Intern
After you apply online, L'Oréal has you do digital assessments, then an HR screening, and then you'll interview with the hiring managers. For some jobs, there's an assessment centre that includes case studies and group tasks. It's all about your skills, business sense, motivation, and if you fit with L'Oréal's values.
- What makes you want to apply for this role?
Financial Controller
After applying on the job board, I received an email from HR indicating that my resume was selected and they wanted to learn more about me. The first interview was with HR to assess my fit with the company and its values. The final interview was with the manager, involving more in-depth discussion and some technical questions about my professional experience.
- Can you explain how you align with the company's values?
- Describe a past situation where you encountered a conflict and how you resolved it independently.
Digital Marketer
The first interview stage was really nice with an internal recruiter from L'Oréal who reached out to me while I'm currently employed. Then, I had an interview with the HR Director. From the beginning, she made me feel uncomfortable with her destabilizing and leading questions, showing she wasn't validating my application. It seems my CV didn't meet her expectations, which makes me wonder why they contacted me. She didn't ask any questions about me as a person or my potential. I guess I didn't fit the mold on paper. I thought L'Oréal had evolved more in terms of human approach, which is a shame.
- Are you aware that your previous work isn't comparable to managing multiple luxury brands?
- How do you ensure your leadership?
- Given your versatility, how do you plan to succeed with us in such a specialized area?
Account Executive
So HR called me for a phone screening first, and then I had a Teams interview with HR. After that, I interviewed with the manager, and then there was a final interview with another manager. The whole thing was pretty disorganized though, they kept changing the times and days for the interviews, sometimes with very little notice. The final interviewer even missed the meeting and then, a few hours later, expected me to just jump on a call right then, even though I was already at work. They were also not straight with me about what the job actually involved.
- Can you share details about your past work experience?
- What responsibilities do you believe this role includes?
