First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at L'auberge Casino & Hotel.
Marketing Coordinator
I had an initial zoom interview with the Advertising Manager. Then, I had an in person interview with the VP of Marketing. Neither of them brought up pay, which I should have but I was brand new in my career and didn't know what I was doing. I wasn't told in the initial interview that the manager's last day in person was in two days and that she was transitioning out of the role and would be providing training via zoom.
- Can you share an instance where you had to juggle multiple projects simultaneously?
Marketing Specialist
I applied online and then got a call about a month later to set up an in-person interview. The manager rescheduled last minute, which was pretty unprofessional, and then was 10 minutes late to the actual interview. The interviewer seemed really uninterested and didn't ask many questions. I felt like I was interviewing them because I only learned about the job by asking my own questions. It was a very strange and time-wasting interview experience, but maybe it's a good thing if they're that unprofessional from the start.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What about your past experiences?
Sales
So, it started with a panel interview. They asked some typical questions, work-related questions, personality questions, and real-life questions. They wanted to know about times I handled things, asking for examples. There were multiple rounds, and each one was a bit long, over 30 minutes, but it was enjoyable.
- Can you tell me about a challenging situation you've successfully navigated?
- Describe a difficult circumstance you encountered and how you managed it.
- Share an example of a tough scenario you overcame.
Barback
I had a one-on-one meeting first, and then a second time around, I met with a group of people. They asked me some situational questions and also asked about my previous jobs. It wasn't a hard interview.
- If you were an animal, what would it be?
- What's your previous job experience like?
- How would you respond in a specific scenario?
