First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KWSM: a digital marketing agency.
Web Developer
I withdrew my application for the Web Developer role after a disappointing and uncomfortable interview with CEO Katie Wagner. She asked condescending questions, notably pressing me on why I had been laid off in the past, which felt unnecessarily judgmental given the current job market. She also mentioned they've never had layoffs, which makes me think people quit often. Additionally, a typo on my resume was pointed out in a way that felt more like personal criticism than helpful feedback. The tone was dismissive and demeaning, making the whole experience hostile. I felt disrespected and undervalued, not wanting to be part of such an environment.
- Could you elaborate on the reasons why you were laid off in the past?
- What were the circumstances surrounding your past layoffs?
Digital Marketing Executive
The HR person wants to know what's new in digital marketing, like the latest trends and any Google algorithm updates. They also want to hear about your digital marketing strategies and if you've used paid ads before. Make sure to talk about SEO, managing campaigns, and how you'd make ads perform better and get people interested. Also, share your thoughts on saving money, finding the right people to see ads, and how you stay up-to-date with what's happening in the industry.
- Could you share some updates and trends in digital marketing?
Digital Marketing Specialist
I was looking for a job at KWSM during covid and saw they had openings in their Vegas office. I applied and was asked to complete an application. I did what was asked and saw they had other listings with different requirements, some asking for work samples and some not. My advice would be to keep track of what you're hiring for, what job listing someone replied to, and get your act together.
- Can you tell me about your years of experience?
Content Editor
The interview process involved a couple of phone chats followed by an in-person meeting. It was a pretty relaxed conversation. It didn't feel as stressful as some other interviews. If you're into social media and digital marketing and you know your stuff, you'll do great and it'll feel like you're just hanging out and chatting with friends.
- Can you discuss your understanding of digital marketing?
- Could you share your experience using different digital marketing platforms?
