Got through initial screening, then had a full day interview/orientation meeting, and after that a presentation. It took some time to schedule the orientation meeting. Some people were sent home halfway through the day. We also did a Maths, English and Aptitude Test.

So the interview had 2 parts. First was a quick phone call, then there was a presentation part with some questions after. They gave me a few days to get a presentation ready about a work situation, which was pretty tough but also showed me what the job is about.

Applied through an agency, sent my CV and cover letter first. Got the 1st interview which involved a Maths and English test and then a 1-hour interview. For the 1st interview, I had to go to the London office. First, I did a Maths and English test (30 mins each), like Kumon worksheets, covering up to GCSE level. The Maths had fractions, basic arithmetic, and algebra. They gave me a practice paper which was helpful, but I had to revise a bit. The English test was reading comprehension, ordering sentences, and indirect speech. If English is your first language and you can do the sample, it's easy. The interview itself was pretty intense with the Regional Manager and HR for an hour, asking non-stop questions. It started as a chat to get to know me and my career path reasoning. Then the last 30 mins were standard interview questions. They told me I passed within an hour. The next stage was another interview where I had to present a report on a Kumon centre visit, with feedback and recommendations, plus a 15-min PowerPoint. They set up a visit to a centre near me, where I spent about an hour, which could have been longer. The Instructor was nice and I talked to students to get data on their age, worksheet level, and study habits. The visit was on a Tuesday and the interview on Friday. For the 2nd interview, I met a Regional Manager and the Head of Kumon UK. I gave them my report and then presented (15 mins felt short). They asked about my observations and what was in the report/presentation. They really focused on the staff-to-student ratio I mentioned. I felt a bit uneasy when asked if I doubted the Kumon method; I answered honestly. They said they were wary of people who just accept things without challenging. The interview had a weird vibe, like they were trying to trick me into saying negative things about the job. I had to be careful with my words. They also repeated some questions from the first interview. In the end, I didn't get the job, even though I felt it went pretty well. They let me know on the Tuesday (interview was Friday). Feedback was I wasn't enthusiastic enough, nothing more specific. I think it was about not being the right 'fit'.
