First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kroll.
Valuation Analyst
The process started with online tests and a video interview that touched on basic valuation questions. Then there was an assessment center which involved a modelling test where I had to build a DCF from scratch, a written math test, and a group case study. For the group case study, we had to present our findings and answer some questions. The whole thing took about half a day.
- Can you explain different valuation methods?
- Build a DCF from scratch.
- Answer a list of questions.
Valuation Analyst
The interview process had two main rounds. The first round was a technical interview with a Director and a VP, each for 30 minutes. They asked about valuing debt and equity, like explaining a DCF, discount rate for a bond, and how to value cryptocurrency. The second round involved interviews with a VP and an MD. The VP gave a short case study on valuing a small shop using DCF because comparables weren't clear due to size. The MD interview was a fit/airport test to see if I'd be a good fit.
- Could you walk me through a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis?
- What are the components that make up the discount rate for a bond?
- Describe the process for valuing a debt instrument.
