First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kratos Defense & Security Solutions.
Systems Engineer
Applied online and then a recruiter reached out within about a week. First, I had a virtual panel interview that went for about an hour. We discussed the company and my background. After that, they mentioned an onsite interview was next. The onsite involved a coding exercise to check my development skills, focusing on Python and Linux.
- Could you detail your Kubernetes experience?
- Perform a coding exercise.
- What's your background with Python and Linux?
Electrical Engineer
It was a pretty simple and easy interview process. They asked typical questions about my background, but since it's an internship, the focus was mainly on my extracurricular projects related to the role. They also asked what I hoped to gain from the position and if I had prior experience in a professional engineering setting.
- Could you elaborate on your experiences?
Information Security Analyst
Had 2 interviews total, the first was a phone screen with the SOC manager, it was behavioral. Then I had a technical interview with him again and probably a lead engineer. The interviews were a week apart. They ask questions super fast in the technical, almost like a quiz show, especially for the terms/definitions questions. Scenario questions were okay difficulty-wise, but it really depends on who you get. I had trouble at first understanding the engineer's questions and had to ask a few times for clarification.
- What is the motivation for a malicious actor to gain access to a DNS server?
- Can you list some known APTs and describe their modus operandi?
- Could you explain what the MITRE ATT&CK framework is?
Additive Manufacturing Engineer
I applied online and then got a call about a week or two later to see if I was still interested. After saying yes, they set up a video call with the team, hiring manager, and team lead. A few days later, I was invited for a final on-site interview and visit, which they paid for (flights, hotel, and other costs). During the on-site, I gave a 30-minute presentation about myself and my experience, followed by questions about personal and professional subjects. Then, I got a tour of the facility and had lunch. After lunch, the team lead gave me a history of the company, and then I had one-on-one interviews with the hiring manager and a future teammate.
- Can you tell us about the additive manufacturing materials you know?
