First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KPFF.
Design Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward with no curveballs. Upon arrival, I took a short quiz with two questions. Afterward, I met with two associates to discuss my qualifications and the company culture. They asked a few technical questions, possibly more than usual due to my experience. We also discussed the office's functioning, integrated project delivery systems, and collaboration among staff and with clients. Finally, I spoke with an employee and toured the office.
- What are your biggest strengths?
Engineer
I applied online and they got in touch really fast to set up a phone interview. This call was mostly about my school background and any internships I'd done. It felt like they just wanted to get a sense of me personally and see how serious I was about them, not just any company. After that, they invited me to come in for an in-person interview at their office. I met with several people who were at different levels in the company, and we talked a lot about my past experiences and what they're currently working on. Overall, the whole thing was great and made me really excited about the possibility of working there.
- Tell me about your academic background and internship experiences.
- Describe your background and your commitment to this company.
- Discuss your background and our ongoing projects.
Project Engineer
The whole interview process took about a month and a half. There were two interviews, each about an hour long. The first one was on Zoom with a principal from the office and the hiring manager. It was more personal, covering QA/QC, going over my job experience, why I was interested, and my goals. The second interview was also on Zoom with an associate and a senior engineer. They asked about my background and some design-related questions.
- Can you explain why you feel you'd be a good match for our company?
- Where do you see your career in five years?
