Behavioral Presentation

The interview process at Kount was pretty straightforward and fast. I applied and then got an email to set up a phone screen with HR, which was super flexible with my schedule and lasted about 30 minutes. After that, they invited me for an in-person visit. They gave me a tour of the place, which was really nice, and then I had separate meetings. First, I talked with the director of the department for about 45 minutes to an hour. Then, I met with two staff members from his team for another 45 minutes or so. HR also came back after those meetings to show me a bit more of the building before I left. The entire visit was about 2 hours long. A few days later, HR contacted me with the exciting news that I got the job! We then finalized all the employment details. The whole journey from interview to offer took about two weeks, and everyone I interacted with was genuinely great and incredibly helpful!

Behavioral Technical

The interview process with Kount was straightforward and timely. The HR recruiter was very helpful and responsive to my questions about the company, the position, and the process overall. I submitted my application online, which took a decent amount of time due to the depth of information they asked for, but that is not atypical. Once submitted, I received a follow-up call to schedule an interview within about 48 hours. Due to a family emergency, I had to postpone the initial interview for about a week, but the folks at Kount were very understanding and rescheduled the in-person interview to accommodate my situation. The in-person interview was with two hiring managers for the position and lasted approximately 1 hour. Interview questions were straightforward and focused on my past and recent experience related to the CSM position. The interviewers were welcoming, asked some challenging but fair questions, and were generous with their time in answering my many questions. The offer and acceptance process was also a good experience. Kount proactively provided all of the benefits and other information with the offer so I could fully review, consider, and question before making a decision. They also provided all of the new hire paperwork via an online portal, so I was able to complete all of the necessary paperwork before I started so on my first day I was able to focus on the new job rather than spending my time doing paperwork.

So, I had a phone screen and honestly, there were quite a few red flags. Right off the bat, money came up, and they hinted that living elsewhere was a problem for me. Even weirder, the hiring manager suggested I swing by for an interview next time I was in town. I actually emailed to confirm, thinking they were serious, but then they told me there were no jobs left, even though their website showed two openings. They still said I could stop by though. It seems like if you see job postings from them online, they might just be collecting data and not actually hiring.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was pretty extensive. First, I had an HR round where they asked some technical questions, but not super technical, more about my career accomplishments and challenges. That round felt good, they were probing and personable. A couple weeks later, I had a second round with more technical people. This round felt a bit like an internship interview, asking about specific directories and file extensions. It seemed focused on memorization, which I've seen more with entry-level roles where people haven't automated processes yet. I didn't get an offer because I withdrew my application after accepting another offer. Their hiring process took weeks, and during that time I got better offers that were more focused on senior folks.
