Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Korn Ferry.
Management Trainee
The initial phone contact was good, with solid, detailed questions about my background and motivations. However, details about the actual job were pretty vague. Subsequent calls weren't super organized; one conference call started late because not everyone was informed. The one-on-one interviews were great, though – the interviewer was knowledgeable and experienced, asked relevant questions, and expected precise answers. The interview summary was well done, and follow-up meetings were scheduled. The later calls and emails didn't quite match the personal interaction, and there seemed to be a lot of turnover, with multiple contact changes because people were leaving the company.

Relationship Manager
The interview was for an acquirer. After the initial contact, we moved to a Skype call, about 60 minutes long, where a consultant analyst asked questions about my professional experience and the challenges of the role. A few days later, I messaged on WhatsApp for an update. I was told I had advanced to the interview with the managers and should prepare by studying the market, competitors, etc. After 15 days with no update, I was informed the manager interview scheduling would take another week, which was fine. The takeaway is: I found out (through internal contacts) that the position had been closed and I received no follow-up. Even after sending messages (WHATSAPP AND LINKEDIN), the messages were marked as read, but they didn't even bother to respond. KORN FERRY WAS THE WORST CONSULTANCY I'VE SEEN CONDUCTING A RECRUITMENT PROCESS. NO FEEDBACK, NO MINIMUM RESPECT FOR THE CANDIDATE.

Manager
We had a bunch of phone and in person interviews. I talked to people at my level and people 1, 2, and 3 levels above me. It felt like they really wanted me to meet a lot of people so I'd feel good about the job and they'd know I'd fit in with the team. Everyone was really open about the good and bad parts of the job.
