Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KONE.
Sales Engineer
It was a 3 round interview process involving a written technical test and an HR chat. You can clear it with proper preparation. The questions were easy to moderate and focused on your background and knowledge of the field.
- What makes you the best candidate for this role?
Sales Engineer
They used a series of questions to understand my nature, attitude, and safety thoughts. There was also a psychology test with jumbled questions. I'm not sure how they got my resume and details; I think they mostly use LinkedIn and other sources for recruitment, not traditional hiring methods. The HR person only has access to your resume and finds candidates. Managers are assigned specific questions. The Branch Manager interviews candidates, and the Assistant Manager observes. If the HR decision and the Managers' decision match, job offers are given.
- Do you smoke or drink?
- Have you experienced an accident, and if so, how did it occur?
- Describe your work process and how you meet or exceed your sales quota.
Sales Engineer
A third-party recruiter reached out to see if I was interested in a multinational company. I first spoke with the hiring manager, then HR on the same day. After that, the managing director reviewed my profile. I waited about a week and then got the job offer.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses, and how you address your weaknesses?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses and how do you approach improving your weaknesses?
