Graduate Engineer Trainee
So the interview process started with a writer test that had about 20 technical questions, and you had to get at least 10 right. After that, I had a face-to-face manager interview where they mostly asked about my project and things related to it, and that was pretty much it.
- What is your motivation for joining our company?
- What factors influenced your decision to choose us?
- Can you discuss your project in detail?
UX/UI Designer
I had a 30-minute call with a recruiter to go over expectations and learn about the company and role. It all seemed good, the projects were interesting and I was keen to proceed. However, after that call, I didn't hear back from the recruiter. I sent two follow-up emails but got no reply. After three weeks, someone from Komatsu reached out to schedule a call. There was no intro, no explanation of why they wanted to talk, and no info on who they were. When I joined the call, it turned out to be the hiring manager. To my shock, they told me they were considering me for a research position, not the design job I applied for and talked about with the recruiter. This wasn't a role I applied for or am qualified for in my career. At that point, I ended the conversation and pulled out of the process. It was super unorganized, communication was bad, and it lacked professionalism. It gave me a bad vibe about their hiring.
