First, there's a short video part where you have to pretend to teach a breakout room and then write something down. After that, you do a HireVue interview where they ask you three questions and you can record your answers up to two more times. No technical interviews for this role.

Got the invite like 2 weeks after I applied. The interview was online, a video recording. There were like 3 to 4 questions and you could film yourself answering them up to 3 times. The last question was to pretend you're teaching something.

The whole thing took about 2.5 months and had four stages: first a recruiter call, then I had 24 hours to design two curricula and prepare a presentation, plus answer written questions. After that was a project debrief call with some higher-ups, and finally a call with the CEO. I was annoyed about the time limit and doing free work for the project, but even more so because after all that, they gave me a verbal offer for a different job with less pay, which I accepted. Then they rescinded it, saying feedback from my references made them rethink. My references told me they gave positive feedback, so I talked to them. The reason KWK gave for backing out was that they didn't want to give "so much training and scaffolding." This is weird since I've designed curricula for tech companies and kids before. An ex-employee told me they have issues like stealing curriculum ideas and favoring Teach for America people over their own qualified ex-employees, plus making applicants waste time and work for free. It's pretty hypocritical for a non-profit that says it wants to be equitable and empower women.

It was a simple and easy interview process, very straightforward. They just asked a bunch of fit questions and questions about my relationship with Kode with Klossy and its community. They also asked about my general interest in working there and wanted me to talk about my teaching experience.
