First, there was an HR round where they asked basic questions about my experience, tech stack, and some regular HR stuff. Then, there were two panel rounds that focused entirely on my experience. After that, I had a round with the Director, which also involved questions based on my experience. The last round was with someone named Raghuveer, who was the worst panelist I've encountered; he seemed to know nothing except how to bargain and stress people with irrelevant questions.

The interview was online. I was on time even though my car broke down 3 times on my way home. But the interviewer showed extreme disgust on her face the entire time. I felt it was because I am black. My boyfriend even noticed her looking at me strangely and said she looked disgusted. I have nothing on my face but my brown skin to explain this look. Someone else should handle interviews if they are going to discriminate based on race and can't even hide their hatred better.

Started with a recruiter chat where they went over the job, schedule, pay, and duties. Then had the main interview with a team's supervising manager. I liked that it wasn't a typical interview; it felt more like a back-and-forth conversation. This allowed them to get to know me as a person, not just a number or someone answering the same old questions. They got to know me for who I am, not based on generic questions.

The interview process took several weeks and I got to the 4th interview out of 6 total. In the 4th interview, the interviewer mentioned my current role isn't a good fit for the job description I applied for. If the team felt my background didn't match, why did they waste my time with 4 interviews that were 1 hour each?! Also, it seems like the interviewers don't communicate well with each other; you get a lot of the same questions and they go over your experience again on each call.

  • Describe a situation where your actions led to an unexpected outcome, whether positive or negative.
