I had an initial chat with Jacob from HR, who asked me a few basic questions and mostly spent the time explaining the role, company, and their expectations. It felt more like a casual get-to-know-you than an evaluation. Then, I interviewed with my direct manager. This was a more standard interview, with a mix of competency and personality questions, and I got to ask my own questions at the end. Even though it was more formal, it was still a very conversational, two-way discussion. After that, there was an Excel test I had to finish within an hour, and I could pick the hour. The last step was a panel interview with senior team members. It was a really welcoming atmosphere, and the questions weren't designed to trick or pressure me. The whole process took just over 3 weeks, which was super fast but very thorough. It was a great experience overall.

So, about this interview, it was really a mess. First, they told me I could schedule a video interview, but then they rescheduled it for the next day because the hiring manager was sick. The day after, they told me again the hiring manager was still sick and it would have to wait until the next week. I wished them well, you know, things happen, and they said we'd connect soon. But then the hiring manager never confirmed the new date like they said they would. I reached out the morning of the supposed interview, and guess what? It was postponed *again*. I wished them well again, still trying to be understanding. A few days later, I got an email saying the hiring manager was back and could chat either the next day or the end of the week. I replied right away, saying I was free the next day. But then that day came and went, and no confirmation or anything, which felt like being ghosted, especially since I was referred by an organization that works with Kobalt. Honestly, the lack of communication, the constant rescheduling with barely any notice, and messing up my schedule made me feel like they didn't value my time. I get that people get sick and have busy schedules, but a more organized and respectful approach to candidates' time would make a big difference.

I had a really bad experience interviewing for the Delivery Manager role at Kobal Music Group. The recruiter set up a call, but then cancelled it on the morning of the interview. They said the team had already decided to make an offer to another candidate who was likely to accept, so they didn't need to talk to me. They mentioned they'd reach out again if that offer fell through. It felt really unprofessional to cancel like that, especially without interviewing everyone. I definitely don't want to work for a company that treats people that way.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a pretty standard interview process with 4 stages. First, I had a chat with their internal recruiter, then with a team member, followed by a technical chat and a culture fit interview. The whole thing took a few weeks, and I went through all the interviews. The role sounded really exciting and promising, and I enjoyed talking with them. But after I successfully passed every stage, they told me their business requirements had changed and they needed someone with more experience. It was frustrating because they were happy with my skills after the technical interview and even moved me to the next stage within a few hours. It's really annoying to put in so much effort only for it to be a waste of time when they clearly didn't even know what skills they needed before starting the search.
