& Process

I was called and asked if I could interview for two jobs, one technical writer and the other design validation. The first interview was for the technical writer job and it was all behavioral questions. The second was for design validation and it was a tour of what I would be doing with little to no behavioral questions. They asked me when I could start and told me I would hear from them in a week or two. They called me 2 months later to tell me I didn't get the position.

It started with a phone screen, then moved to a 5-hour onsite interview process with five rounds total. There were 2 HR rounds and 3 coding rounds. The coding rounds included one round of whiteboard coding, another round focused on finding bugs in existing code, and a final round involving verbal questioning based on different scenarios.

We did a phone interview to talk about skills and experience. Then there was an on-site interview where we discussed previous projects, some behavior questions, and got an overview of the company. The technical questions were pretty general and based on your experience, not super detailed white board coding, but some basic electronic questions.

The interview was conducted over Teams. It was quite informal, but still professional. Apparently, I was the first person at Knorr Bremse to be interviewed this way. The manager and HR were both excellent. I've been here for 7 years in total, and I've enjoyed most of that time.
